Harnessing Artificial Intelligence for Smarter, Faster and Better Administrative Writing.

The Information Services Department of the National Gallery of Art (NGA) has conducted a two-day capacity-building training on Artificial Intelligence (AI) for its officers.
The training, themed “Harnessing Artificial Intelligence for Smarter, Faster and Better Administrative Writing,” was held on Monday, 28 September and Monday, 5 October 2026, through a hybrid/virtual format.
The training was designed to equip staff with practical knowledge on the use of AI tools to improve report writing, official memoranda, content creation and other administrative and communication-related tasks.
The first session introduced participants to Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI, including how tools such as ChatGPT work, their applications in workplace productivity, as well as their strengths and limitations.
The second session provided a recap of the first session and practical demonstrations of AI applications, including the use of tools such as Gemini to edit pictures and videos, highlighting their usefulness in visual content development.
The training also emphasised the need for human judgment, confidentiality, data security and responsible use of AI, with participants reminded that AI should assist, rather than replace, professional expertise and responsibility.
The training is expected to enhance the efficiency, creativity and productivity of officers while supporting the Department in delivering quality administrative and communication outputs.
