NGA RECEIVES FEAAN AWARD

On Friday, March 7, 2025, the Female Artist Association of Nigeria, in collaboration with Nike Art Gallery Abuja, hosted a captivating exhibition themed “For All Women and Girls’ Rights and Equality Empowerment.” This event coincided with the commemoration of International Women’s Day.

The exhibition showcased an impressive array of artworks, highlighting the talents of female artists in Nigeria. The event also featured an awards ceremony, where notable individuals and organizations were recognized for their contributions to the growth and development of art, particularly in women’s and girls’ empowerment.

The National Gallery of Art, a parastatal under the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, was honored for its outstanding support. The organization received a special award from the Female Artists Association of Nigeria, recognizing its immense contribution to the growth and development of female artists in Nigeria; Receiving the award on behalf of NGA, Chizoba Pilaku, an exhibiting Artist and Assistant Director in the Gallery thanks the organizers for the recognition and stated that NGA will always support and showcase Female Artist.

The owner of Nike Art Gallery and event organizer encouraged female artists in Nigeria to find their unique voices and take pride in their artistic expressions. This sentiment echoed the words of the Minister for Art, Culture, Tourism, and the Creative Economy, who emphasized the importance of nurturing and showcasing local talents.

The exhibition was a resounding success, demonstrating the power of art to promote social change and advocate for women’s rights. Female Artists Association of Nigeria’s efforts to empower female artists through art are truly commendable.

Collaborations with government agencies and private organizations should be strengthened to promote Nigerian art and culture.
